Why I’m Starting This Blog Now

Honestly, I never planned on starting a blog. It’s kind of funny — just last October I told a waitress I was an up-and-coming blogger so I could get a private space at a restaurant to surprise a friend. I was totally joking…She bought it.. but now here I am, actually writing one.
What could I possibly say that hasn’t already been said? Who am I to take up additional space on the “world wide web” with my stories, my truth, my journey?
But here I am — showing up anyway.
Not because I have it all figured out, but because I’ve finally realized: maybe that’s the point. Nobody does!
This blog isn’t about perfection.
It’s about becoming, getting to the root, and shifting with reality.
It’s about what happens in the quiet in-between moments — the grief you can’t explain, the laughter that surprises you, the healing that doesn’t always make a grand entrance, the suppressed desires for a healthy consistent companion.
I’m starting this blog because life has taught me so much. At this point, I’m willing to say the things that most people would take to their graves, even if it is a little uncomfortable when I tell them. I’m starting this blog because I believe there’s strength in softness, and power in being a little bit funny and a little bit fragile, while keeping it real.
So if you’re reading this — whether by accident, curiosity, or quiet desperation — I hope you find something here that inspires you to heal, grow or change the way you view and live life. I pray that you find the courage to release all the traumatic experiences in your nervous system that are hindering you from the love you deserve from yourself and God. I pray that you’ll find relief, self-awareness, and purpose.
Your voice matters too. Showing up, just as you are, is already enough.
Thanks for being here. Let’s grow boldly, together.
No judgment here!

With love,
Patrice Thomas
